Alwaleed Philanthropies Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Harfah Association to Support and Empower Artisans and Preserve Heritage

Alwaleed Philanthropies, chaired by HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, and Harfah Association have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at supporting and empowering artisans, preserving national heritage, and promoting the sustainability of traditional crafts, in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals and the Year of Saudi Handicrafts. The agreement sets the framework for joint projects and initiatives across multiple areas.

The proposed areas of collaboration include building human capacity in traditional arts through the development of educational and training programs, supporting and empowering the crafts sector by launching initiatives and projects to advance traditional crafts and arts, developing entrepreneurship programs, professional incubators, and artisan product initiatives, as well as marketing, exhibitions, and joint events and exhibitions, and participation in local and global conferences. The MoU also covers the development of community initiatives linked to traditional arts
The agreement was signed in the presence of HRH Princess Noura bint Mohammed bin Saud Al Saud, Chairperson of the Board of Harfah Association, and HRH Princess Lamia bint Majed Al Saud, Secretary General of Alwaleed Philanthropies.
Her Royal Highness Princess Noura bint Mohammed bin Saud Al Saud, Chairperson of Harfah Association, noted that the agreement represents an important step toward strengthening the association’s role in preserving traditional crafts and highlighting their cultural and economic value.
HRH Princess Lamia bint Majed Al Saud stated: “Our partnership with Harfah Association reflects Alwaleed Philanthropies’ ongoing commitment to supporting and sustaining arts and handicrafts, which are an integral part of our national identity and a promising field for empowering women. By developing the skills of female artisans and opening economic opportunities for them, we strengthen the presence of Saudi heritage both locally and globally."
