First Batch of Vehicles Delivered to Beneficiaries
HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, Chairman of Alwaleed Philanthropies, presented the first batch of vehicles to the beneficiaries as part of a strategic partnership between Alwaleed Philanthropies and Uber aimed at advancing economic empowerment and strengthening social impact across Saudi Arabia. The batch delivery took place during an official event in Riyadh attended by HRH Princess Lamia bint Majed Al Saud, Secretary General of Alwaleed Philanthropies, H.E Eng. Fawaz Znaaf Alsahli, President of the Transport General Authority, and Youssef Abouseif, Regional General Manager at Uber, alongside representatives from Alwaleed Philanthropies, the Transport General Authority, and Uber.
Memorandum of Understanding to Develop Empowerment Initiatives
HRH Princess Lamia bint Majed Al Saud and Youssef Abouseif signed a memorandum of understanding to explore and develop joint initiatives that expand access to earning opportunities and promote economic empowerment through the mobility sector. The partnership will focus on transportation access, training and professional development, skills-building initiatives, and programs designed to help beneficiaries unlock sustainable earning opportunities through Uber’s platform.
Initial Initiatives Under the Partnership
The first initiative under this partnership will enable eligible beneficiaries to access vehicles, creating new pathways toward sustainable income and greater economic independence. The initiatives will also place particular emphasis on supporting women and expanding economic opportunities for individuals who face greater barriers to workforce participation.
Alignment with Saudi Vision 2030
This partnership aligns with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 by expanding economic opportunities and improving access to mobility services through innovation and technology. By combining Uber’s expertise in mobility and technology with Alwaleed Philanthropies’ broad social impact and development programs, both parties aim to empower more individuals with the skills, resources, and opportunities needed to reach their full potential.
