The Launch of “Waeya in Entrepreneurship” Workshops to Legally Support and Empower Saudi Women Entrepreneurs

Alwaleed Philanthropies, chaired by HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, has launched the “Waeya in Entrepreneurship” workshop program in partnership with the “Waeya” Initiative, represented by Faisal Al-Tayea Law Firm, and in collaboration with the The Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha’at). The program is a specialized initiative designed to provide legal support and empower Saudi women entrepreneurs to overcome the legal challenges that may face their startups.
The program enables women entrepreneurs to participate in awareness workshops focused on the essential legal aspects of managing businesses, in addition to receiving specialized legal consultations and facilitated direct access to lawyers and legal advisors through the “Waeya” Initiative. The program seeks to strengthen legal confidence and knowledge among women entrepreneurs, contributing to the sustainability and growth of their businesses within a sound legal environment, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
This program builds on the ongoing efforts of the “Waeya” Initiative, which works to train and empower male and female lawyers, adopt cases, and represent women before courts and relevant authorities, with the aim of spreading legal awareness and empowering women in legal matters. The initiative has set several key objectives to advance its mission, including establishing the foundations of legal education for women, enhancing legal awareness and knowledge in the community, training female lawyers, addressing cases related to women, violence, and cybercrime, and helping women improve their quality of life through greater awareness of their rights and responsibilities.
This collaboration reflects the importance of integrating efforts between the non-profit sector, legal entities, and entities supporting the small and medium enterprises sector, contributing to the development of a supportive ecosystem for women entrepreneurs and enabling them to launch and grow their businesses with confidence and solid legal knowledge.

For over four decades, Alwaleed Philanthropies has invested more than $5 billion in social welfare, launching over 1000 projects across 190+ countries.
