Restoring Vital Infrastructure After Crisis
In response to the devastating earthquakes that struck Syria in February 2023, Alwaleed Philanthropies "Global" joined forces with UN-Habitat Syria to launch a critical initiative aimed at restoring water access to vulnerable communities in Eastern Aleppo. This partnership underscores a shared commitment to rebuilding essential services and infrastructure in one of Syria’s most affected regions.

Project Goals and Scope
Running from 2023 to 2025 the project focuses on:
- Rehabilitating approximately 3 kilometers of main water pipelines damaged by the earthquake.
- Restoring household water connections to ensure clean and reliable access to water.
- Improving street conditions in areas affected by pipeline excavation, enhancing the local environment and accessibility.
Through these efforts, the project aims to deliver long-term, sustainable water solutions and improve living conditions for thousands of residents.

Building Resilience Through Infrastructure
This project represents more than just a technical upgrade—it is a lifeline for communities in Aleppo. By restoring access to clean water, the initiative contributes directly to:
- Public health and hygiene
- Economic recovery
- Social stability and resilience
Alwaleed Philanthropies "Global" and UN-Habitat remain steadfast in their commitment to support the recovery of Aleppo’s communities through sustainable development and humanitarian support.
