Alwaleed Philanthropies Contributes to the Development of Artisan Skills at Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve Development Authority

Alwaleed Philanthropies, chaired by HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, organized, in collaboration with the Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve Development Authority, two artisan training programs at the Authority’s headquarters in Ghilaneh. The programs focused on leathercraft and woodcarving, as part of efforts to empower the local community, support traditional crafts, and develop skills in the handicraft industry.

The programs ran for twenty days with the participation of ten trainees. The leathercraft program focused on transferring knowledge and expertise in designing and developing leather products that meet modern market needs, enabling participants to turn their skills into a sustainable source of income.
The woodcarving program introduced participants to raw materials and tools, the use of natural colors and their application on wood, and carving techniques, culminating in the creation of artistic products that reflect the identity of the reserve and its surrounding community.
These initiatives are part of the ongoing collaboration between Alwaleed Philanthropies and the Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve Development Authority in supporting community development and traditional crafts, aligning with the objectives of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to preserve cultural heritage and empower local communities to showcase the authentic Saudi identity.
